Funeral Attendance

Attendance at Funerals

To keep all of the families under our care informed, the government have recently updated their guidance in relation to indoor spaces, now containing specific provisions for those planning to attend a funeral or commemorative event. Whilst social distancing measures no longer apply, it is now advised for anyone attending a funeral to have first taken a lateral flow test prior to arrival, regardless of vaccination status or a lack of symptoms, and not attend should this be a positive result.

There are now no restrictions on the number of people who can attend a funeral, but family members and those paying their respects are advised to consider limiting close contact, where possible, and to wear a face covering when in enclosed and crowded areas. Indoor spaces will be colder than usual due to increased ventilation, windows and doors often remaining open for the duration of committals and service proceedings. You can order free packs of rapid lateral flow tests to be sent to your home at the link below. Please ask our caring team should you have any questions, and thank you for your assistance in helping to protect one another.
