Funeral Service Operative

A rare opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, family run, independent business that has served the local community for almost sixty years. Vacancies at our company do not arise regularly and only the most exceptional candidates will be considered. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, integrity and compassion, whilst upholding the exceptional standards of Cliff Bradley & Sons to support families through difficult times.

Funeral service operatives work as part of a team to ensure that families have care and support whilst working with the company. This requires the successful individual to work face to face with clients, whilst also preparing many aspects of the funeral arranging practise to the very highest standards. The role will involve care and preparation of the deceased, as well as attending and supporting with funerals, to ensure the final journey is completed as carefully and respectfully as possible. It is essential that the successful applicant maintains a high standard of personal appearance, as the role will involve working face to face with the public.

As a casual funeral service operative, you will be responsible to the management team. With support, you will be required to work closely with the team of funeral directors and contribute to the smooth running of daily tasks when the need arises with work. This role is based on a zero-hours contract and is casual work, working as and when required by the business. Due to contractual requirements for HM Coroner, successful applicants will need to live within a ten minute journey of our premises in Gainsborough for the on-call rota. As a result, anyone applying with a geographical distance of more than a ten minute commute from Gainsborough will not be considered for the role. A full UK driving license is essential for applicants as they will be driving fleet vehicles on a regular basis. There is a possibility that this role could become part-time or full-time for successful applicants, possibly also suiting somebody who is semi-retired or looking for casual, flexible work.
