Driver and Bearer

A rare opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, family run, independent business that has served the local community for almost sixty years. Vacancies at our company do not arise regularly and only the most exceptional candidates will be considered. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, integrity and compassion, whilst upholding the exceptional standards of Cliff Bradley & Sons to support families through difficult times.

Bearers are required to work well as part of a team, ensuring that families have care and support, on what can be some of their most challenging days. This role is client facing and requires successful applicants to uphold the highest levels of care, dignity and respect. Drivers and bearers are expected to act as ambassadors for Cliff Bradley & Sons in their dealings with the public and to show care and concern, especially to bereaved families and also to their colleagues. Successful applicants must have a full UK driving license and must be immaculately turned out at all times. Full uniform will be provided by the company.

As a driver and bearer, you will be responsible to the management team at Cliff Bradley & Sons. With support, you will be required to work closely with the team of funeral directors and contribute to the perfect execution of funeral arrangements. The main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation of the funeral vehicles prior to funerals, driving company vehicles (including hearses and limousines), ensuring any defects are immediately reported to the management team, working as a pallbearer during funerals, cleaning, charging and refuelling vehicles post funeral, and returning vehicles to our operational centre, acting as an ambassador to the company, whilst upholding our ethos and values at all times.

Opportunity may arise for job responsibilities to broaden and expand for the right candidate post-training. However, this is not essential for the role and would occur only through agreement between the employee and the company.
