Off Road Driving

Earlier in the year, we sent Stuart and Edward to Rockingham Castle to gain some experience and perfect their skills in off road driving. Heavy snow brought massive disruption to the area in March, with the military drafted in to help cut-off communities and clear metre-high drifts. During that time we held a funeral for a lady, whose grandson had flown into the country especially from Canada.

Carlton Bradley recalls, "We had only collected our Land Rover Discovery from Market Rasen that morning. The idea was to have a vehicle that could get through difficult terrain and it proved its worth on the very first day. We went through snowdrifts as high as the bonnet and encountered at least two jack-knifed lorries. The journey took longer than usual but we got there".

During their training, Stuart and Edward honed their off road driving skills with expert tuition, gaining a greater understanding of vehicle control, obstacle handling and assessing different environments, including navigating steep inclines and descents, side slopes and water crossings. Dedicated to supporting our local community, we are ready for what the winter months may have instore for us, should the Beast from the East rear its ugly head again.
